Client: Estee Lauder

Brief:

Design an annual report for the chosen chlient based on their theme and happenings within the past year (2008). Be sure to make a difference from their annual reports from the past 5 years, but the concept must be consistent with the company's outlook.

Concept:

In 2008, Estee Lauder had managed to expand their brand's branches outside of their usual perimeter within the USA and Europe. They have expanded further into Brazil, Russia, China, and India. Within the Asia Pacific region alone, sales have exceeded $1 billion. Therefore, I have come up with the annual report theme, Beauty Breaks Barriers.

Why beauty breaks barriers? Aa brand that focuses on beauty products, Estee Lauder has managed to bring their products across the globe and reach out to woman of different cultures, different skin color, different mother-tongues, and so on. The one thing they have in common now is the perception of Estee Lauder's beauty product standards. The brand is something they have in common, no matter where they come from.

Concept: Modern vintage

Info:
Mint magazine is inspired by things, styles, and art from yesteryear. The magazine aims to implement those styles into our modern society. As seen from the first image, the cover itself is a plastic film which portrays the modern woman on the cover. But when lifted up, the original image is shown, which is an impressionist painting from the 70's depicting a glamorous woman from that era. Apart from fashion, modern art and lifestyle are also included, most which are 'inspired' by certain things from the earlier era.

Brief: Create an interesting & interactive method of promoting the showing of Disney Pixar's 'A Bug's Life' coming soon on Star Movies.
Concept:The movie's about ants, so I thought, why not use ants, real ants, as part of the whole advertising media? As illustrated, this lightbox will be modified to hold earth, which will have a custom-carved anthill in the form of the movie's logo. Real ants will be allowed to live inside, with proper maintenance once a day. The Star Movies logo and the show dates will be placed on the outside, as shown. This will create curiosity which will draw people towards the lightbox.

Brief: Create an interesting & interactive method of promoting the showing of Disney Pixar's 'A Bug's Life' coming soon on Star Movies.
Concept:This idea was inspired by the bug splats you usually get on your windscreen from driving too fast. I illustrated a plain black mush of squashed bugs with the information of the movie on both sides. Pasting this on someone's windscreen is definitely something that would catch their attention (they do need to be able to see to drive anyways) and I believe that 80% of the target market would keep this car sticker on their car. Which gives us the benefit of free advertising via the passengers. Hence why taxis would be one of the main targets for this promo.

Title: STOP Littering campaign items for the state of Negeri Sembilan

Brief:Create an interesting way of communicating the purpose of the campaign to the public community. Remember to include the state's logo.
Concept:The main thing about leaflets is that people tend to throw them away without giving so much of a second thought. Therefore, I created a leaflet that not only contains the campaign information, but additional 'souvenirs' for the public. Of course, these 'souvenirs' are campaign related. Each leaflet comes with a pin-badge and a set of four stickers on the back. Even if the reader decides to trash the leaflet, they would at least keep the badge or use the stickers so the whole point of this leaflet wouldn't be for nothing.
The leaflets have four versions, each representing the four most littered items; which are paper, cigarette butts, plastic bottles, and aluminum tin cans. The pin-badge & stickers are themed accordingly.
As the leaflets are chock full of things to see and keep, I decided to keep the name card simple. By just using the campaign logo, colors, and tagline.

Concept:Helvetica is a great font to play around with, and I used this awesome type to invent an imaginary brand and see what are the things I could do with it. These are my favorite three.

prego - italian pasta sauce

Product: Italian pasta sauce
Concept:A repackaging done on the existing product. I gave it an art nouveau touch by adding flowery motifs and by keeping the color scheme simple and earthy. The different flavors are represented with the sketchy icons above, which can be changed on each label accordingly. I added a box packaging as an additional idea, which can be used for promotions during festive seasons and etc.

Product: 2-in-1 lotion for children (Lotion + IR3535 insect repellant)
Brief:The client wants to market a product which combines their IR3535 formula, which is DEET-free & a biopesticide insect repellant. As children are very prone to insect bites, the idea was to combine body lotion & the formula as an added benefit for the consumers.
Concept:To make this product more 'fun' for kids and less of being 'just a product' inspired the product name, 'Funtime'. The artwork on the packaging represents the fun shared by children in the form of a cartoony whale as the main product 'mascot'. The fonts used are also very free-flowing to give a funkier edge to the overall look. A sketchy red heart is also instilled into the 'm' in Funtime, to represent the love of a mother who wants the best protection in the market for her children.

Concept:The name 'Moat Boat' was inspired by children's nursery rhymes, to make it easier and fun for them to pronounce. The packaging concepts were based on clouds & the sea waves. The cloud-inspired packaging is aimed towards toddlers (as IR3535 is safe on children 1 year and above) and the waves were aimed towards children from ages 5 years and above.
